BIA is a co-design project which investigates the role and performance of novel architectures for scientific applications. In order to benchmark future designs against current commercial systems, broad characterization over these platforms is needed to establish performance baselines. The systems available at the JLSE are perfect for characterizing the latency, efficiency, and performance of current applications in X-ray pytchography, tomography, and in high-energy physics triggering and analysis pipelines.
