Description: In the coming months, many applications will begin targeting Frontier and other machines featuring AMD GPUs, and it is likely that many of these applications will use AMD’s HIP programming model. To enable direct portability for these applications to Intel GPUs, we will develop HIP support for Intel GPUs. Moreover, AMD has expressed an interest in supporting multiple backends in HIP, making the model more widely portable.
